Officers of the Boston Police Department (BPD) District A-7 in East Boston are switching gears from the ordinary beats to engage with their community through the shared passion of hockey. The BPD's hockey skills program, found at the Porrazzo Rink every Tuesday at 5pm, is described as an initiative for community members to test their skills and build stronger connections with law enforcement officers according to Boston Police Department.

With new players continuing to sign up, officers are considering a partnership with a learn to skate program to ensure growth and progress for those involved.

Those interested in joining this unique program are encouraged to contact the District A-7 Community Service Office at 617-343-4752.
