Yesterday, September 18, an incident along the Calumet River left a worker nursing a traumatic injury to the arm, thankfully with a fortunate outcome. According to the Chicago Fire Department Media's Twitter account, a 38-year-old male fell off a barge into the waters, leading to an immediate person-in-water response from emergency personnel.

Despite the dangerous circumstances, the worker was rescued and transported to the University of Chicago for treatment.

Little information is available regarding the severity of the injury or the man's condition post-rescue.
