The city of Carlsbad braces for increased traffic delays, as a necessary repaving project on Tamarack Avenue commences starting today and continues through the following week. According to the City of Carlsbad's website, sections of Tamarack Avenue between El Camino Real and Highland Drive will experience temporary one-way traffic restrictions, with construction workers directing traffic flow.
Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected for individuals navigating through the work zone. Construction is scheduled to occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. To avoid these disruptions, residents are recommended to consider alternative routes during this period, as access to residential driveways will be maintained.
The Tamarack Avenue roadwork is an essential response to the area's traffic safety emergency and the city's continued effort to keep streets in excellent condition for all users. It is only one part of an expansive project that also includes improvements on other major east-west roadways, such as parts of Carlsbad Village Drive and La Costa Avenue where traffic control is in place. Additional traffic control measures will be required on Tamarack and other streets during the later stages of the project over the next several weeks.
