As this year marks the 41st anniversary of the Reeling International Film Festival, Chicago's LGBTQ+ film festival features an array of LGBTQ+ content, from campy horror to historical documentaries. Andy Vallentine's "The Mattachine Family" will be the opening film on September 21st at the Music Box Theatre.
Screenings will continue through October 8th at the Landmark Century Centre Cinema in Lakeview and the Chicago Filmmakers Firehouse Cinema in Edgewater, as reported on CBS News.
Meanwhile, the Chicago South Asian Film Festival starts at 10:30 a.m. on September 21st at the Showplace Icon Theatre in the South Loop. The red carpet event is scheduled for Friday night and the festival will run up until Sunday. An afterparty with a Bollywood theme is planned for Saturday, adding to the excitement of this event.
