As the Poway community eagerly prepares for the annual Poway Days Parade on Saturday, September 9th, the city has announced and implemented a series of planned road closures and detours.
The majority of closures and detours will be concentrated along Pomerado Road and Poway Road, as revealed in a recent announcement by Poway's city officials. Beginning at 6 a.m. on the day of the parade, northbound Pomerado Road will be closed between Stowe Drive and Poway Road. Concurrently, Metate Lane and Poquito Street will no longer offer access to Pomerado Road, while Old Pomerado Road, Boulder View, and Oak Knoll Road will also be blocked off. The closures are scheduled to last until the parade's conclusion at approximately 1 p.m., barring any unforeseen events.
Whether you're heading out for the Poway Rotary Parade this Saturday 9/9, or just heading out to do errands around Poway, please take note of road closures for the parade route and staging areas. You can find more details at https://t.co/LJM3XvgY4h. pic.twitter.com/65XWNbfvke

To further accommodate the parade route, Poway Road will be closed in both directions between Pomerado Road and Community Road, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Motorists, however, should not despair; the city will provide distinct signage to direct them safely through the detours, ensuring minimal disruption to usual routines and activities.
This annual event sets the stage for participants to admire the unique, rich culture of Poway and the talent of its citizens. The parade's highlights typically include elaborately decorated floats, spirited local bands, and various community organizations proudly displaying their accomplishments and affiliations.
