In a remarkable display of solidarity, members of the San Ramon Police Department (SRPD) will be participating in the 40th annual Run for Education on October 8. The event, which is organized by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation (SRVEF), aims to create a positive educational environment for youth throughout the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and raise funds for crucial school programs and initiatives.

According to a recent Facebook post by the department, you can sponsor their running team by following the link provided, with all donated funds going directly to the Education Foundation.

The Run for Education offers various events for participants to join, including a Mini Run for young athletes aged 2-6, a Friendship Run for athletes with special needs, a traditional 5K, and a 10K. A virtual runner option also exists for those who wish to support the cause from afar. Event registration fees are appropriately priced, with discounts for participants under 12 and group registrations.

All registered participants will automatically generate a personal fundraising page, encouraging friends and family to contribute to the cause in support of the participant's school. As specified by the event organizers, 70% of net donations will be directed towards the chosen school, while the remaining 30% will be allocated by SRVEF to fund district initiatives.

The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation has been working diligently in collaboration with the school district to fund various priority initiatives, such as district level grants, STEAM programs, professional learning, and individual teacher grants.
