The City of Concord has begun a major initiative to modernize and upgrade its traffic management system across multiple locations, with focused work times between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. each day this week. As reported by the City of Concord's Facebook page, the ambitious Citywide Traffic System Upgrade Project will be progressing in stages, targeting different intersections on a day-by-day basis to minimize overall disruption to daily commuters and local residents.

According to the city's announcement, construction work began today, at the Monument Boulevard and Victory Lane intersection. Tomorrow, the project will move to Monument Boulevard at Virginia Lane, followed by Monument Boulevard at Erickson Road on September 27, and concluding on September 28 at Concord Boulevard and Sixth Street. Motorists should expect delays and closures while driving to carefully navigate the affected areas, as traffic signals will be dark or on flash during working hours. The city urges people to use caution and follow construction signage for their safety and the safety of the construction crews.

To stay informed on potential changes to the schedule or further updates on the Citywide Traffic System Upgrade Project, both commuters and pedestrians are encouraged to follow the City of Concord's Facebook page for real-time information.
