Yesterday, in Concord, Massachusetts, two workers were injured while installing granite curbing on Elm Street.
Upon receiving the call around 11:15 p.m., Concord fire officials promptly arrived at the scene to provide immediate assistance to the injured workers, according to NBC Boston. The workers had been struck by construction equipment during the installation process. Consequently, both workers received treatment at the scene and were later transported to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, though their exact conditions remain unclear.
The U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) was duly informed of the accident. As of now, additional details regarding the incident have not been released. The OSHA would likely be expected to conduct an investigation to identify the root cause of the accident and assess whether adequate safety precautions were in place at the time.
