Earlier this month, on September 6th, a shootout happened at the Ben Rose Housing Development.The New Bedford Police Department arrested two individuals linked to the incident, Jonathan Ovalle and Christopher Little. Their capture brings some justice to the community.
According to the NBDPD, the Ben Rose shooting involved an exchange of gunfire between Ovalle, who reportedly shot at a passing vehicle, and Little, who was identified as the individual retaliating from inside the car.
Another harsh reminder came on September 5th when Christopher Little was involved in an assault on a juvenile at Monte's Playground.
A disturbing video of the attack, showing Little punching and kicking the young victim, was shared on social media, according to City of New Bedford Police Department.
