Two tragic accidents have taken place on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, with one person being killed and three others critically injured.

The first accident occurred on Sunday night at around 11 p.m. in the 3600 block of DuSable Lake Shore Drive. According to Hoodline, a 25-year-old man tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident when he crashed into a guardrail. He was thrown into the southbound lanes where another vehicle fatally struck him as a result of the accident. The young man was later pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Just days after this tragic incident, another accident took place on the same stretch of road. A driver in a Honda sedan was traveling in the wrong direction when his vehicle was struck by a Ford Expedition, resulting in the driver becoming injured and two other people being critically injured. As reported by the Chicago Tribune, the accident occurred in the 3000 block of South Lakeshore Drive when a driver in a Honda Sedan was traveling in the wrong direction in the early hours of Tuesday morning. All injured persons were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The cause of both accidents is still under investigation. Chicago police have passed the motorcycle accident case over to their major accidents unit, and the wrong-way driving case is also being investigated by the Major Accidents Unit.
