The Carlsbad Good Ride program, launched recently by Visit Carlsbad in partnership with Circuit, offers visitors complimentary transportation services within the city, aligning with the city's commitment to sustainable living. According to a recent Patch article, the program aims to simplify vacation experiences for tourists and promote environment-friendly practices.
The Carlsbad Good Ride service serves to address a persisting need for accessible transportation options in a city that spans over 39 square miles, with a varied landscape of attractions that can often perplex visitors. Kim Sidoriak, president and CEO of Visit Carlsbad, said that there was a real need for easy and accessible transportation for overnight guests of the city since the lodging properties are spread throughout the community.
The free transportation provided by the program, available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays until March 31, benefits both local businesses and visitors alike. Travelers can now explore various attractions, such as Legoland California, the beach, Carlsbad Village, and a plethora of shopping and dining venues without worrying about the hassles of finding a rental car or parking. The program will extend its daily service hours to 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. beginning in April. As further detailed on Visit Carlsbad's website, users need only download the Circuit app and follow a few simple steps to hail a free ride to their chosen destination.
Kim Sidoriak mentioned in the Patch article that they were pleased to collaborate with Circuit in supporting the city's promise to promote an eco-conscious lifestyle for which the city is known.
The Carlsbad Good Ride program is thoughtfully designed to make travel around Carlsbad enjoyable, efficient, and more accessible than ever before. Operating as a one-year pilot program through August 31, 2024, its future extendability will be assessed once the pilot period concludes. Visit Carlsbad will be analyzing the results to determine whether the service becomes a staple in the city's transport landscape, as they strive to cater to the convenience of their guests while remaining mindful of the delicate balance between promoting the city's attractions and maintaining its ecological integrity. A spokesperson from Visit Carlsbad mentioned that the service's continuation would depend on the findings gleaned during the pilot year.
