Earlier this week, an act of vigilance and cooperation between patrol officers and a detective led to the arrest of brazen beer thieves. According to a Union City Police Department Facebook post yesterday, the patrol officers swiftly responded to the area of Whipple Road and Medallion Drive after receiving a report of suspects stealing beer from a nearby convenience store.
Detective Wong located the suspects in their vehicle, still in the area, and the suspects were safely taken into custody. The prompt response and collaboration between the patrol officers and Detective Wong not only led to finding the suspects, but also uncovered a loaded revolver hidden beneath the front passenger seat of their vehicle. The suspects were positively identified by witnesses and were subsequently booked for the theft and gun charges.
