On September 23, the City of Dublin calls upon its residents to participate in the Creek Cleanup Day—an initiative aimed at preserving the natural beauty of its waterways and preventing pollution from entering the San Francisco Bay. This monumental effort not only echoes the spirit of community and environmental stewardship, but also highlights a global cause as it coincides with the International Coastal Cleanup Day and California Coastal Cleanup Day, which is considered the largest volunteer event in the United States according to the City of Dublin's announcement.

The Creek Cleanup Day event offers participants a choice of five creek locations throughout Dublin to help clean and protect. Among the options are Dublin Creek situated between Outback Steakhouse and Tesla, Creek Channel at the intersection of Amador Valley Blvd and I-680 overpass, Alamo Creek Trail between the Iron Horse Trail and Amador Valley Boulevard, Alamo Creek at Alamo Creek Park, and San Ramon Creek behind Dublin High School, as per the City of Dublin's news report.

Residents can choose a site that is close to their hearts or one that provides a new experience, widening their perspective on the diverse landscapes Dublin has to offer.

Upon registration and confirmation of their selected creek location, volunteers are asked to check in with the site captain at 9:00 a.m. on September 23. The city will provide necessary tools for the cleanup, however, volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and tools to not only quell waste but also ensure personal comfort throughout the event. In preparation for Creek Cleanup Day, the City of Dublin offers valuable tips, such as the importance of wearing close-toed shoes, long pants, a hat, sunscreen, and bringing a reusable water bottle, where only bulk water will be provided at each site.

One crucial aspect of participating in the event is the completion and submission of a waiver to the City of Dublin, as required from all participants. Underage children must have their waiver signed by a parent or guardian, and for safety reasons, children under 15 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
