On the highways of Oakland, California, investigators apprehended a suspect in connection to a freeway shooting that took place in June of this year. According to a recent announcement by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), detectives arrested Nestor Palacios, a 57-year-old man from Oakley, California.
On June 20, 2023, officers from the CHP's Oakland Area office received information about a shooting incident that happened near the Interstate 580 (I-580) interchange with State Route 24 (SR-24). Fortunately, the victim was unharmed by the gunfire, but investigators later discovered that the individual's vehicle had suffered a single bullet strike.
The subsequent investigation led detectives to identify Palacios as the main suspect in the shooting. As a result, earlier this week, Palacios was arrested without incident at approximately 5:35 p.m. During the arrest, a concealed loaded pistol was discovered on Palacios, which only served to strengthen the case against him.
Following his arrest, Palacios was booked into Martinez Detention Facility on a variety of charges, including attempted murder, shooting at a vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, and carrying a concealed firearm.
