A Boston man has been deemed dangerous and held without bail after he violent assaulted a woman, leaving her with critical injuries to her skull. The 33-year-old man, Terry Robinson Jr., faces charges of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and armed assault to murder and will return to court on October 12, according to the Suffolk District Attorney.
The horrifying attack occurred on August 30, when Boston EMS discovered the 42-year-old woman unresponsive, slumped behind her bedroom door, and suffering from significant facial and chest trauma. As reported by the Suffolk District Attorney, the woman was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment, and Boston police were notified.
Initially, the two witnesses who shared the apartment with the victim believed that she had fallen and hit her head about a week prior to her discovery. The woman had apparently refused to seek medical attention, and her black eye had developed over the course of that week. It was only when they found her unconscious that they called emergency services for help.
However, on September 4, another chilling revelation came to light when the victim informed investigators that she remembered an individual she knew as "Tank" striking her over the head during an argument, as the Suffolk District Attorney revealed. Unable to provide Tank's real name or the object used, she described him as approximately 6 feet tall and 300 pounds, wearing a GPS ankle monitor.
As a result of the assault, doctors had to remove a piece of the victim's skull. Now she is required to wear a protective helmet to shield her brain from further injury.
Through diligent police work, investigators were able to track down an individual matching the description provided by the victim. This individual, Terry Robinson, was found to have a tattoo of the word "Tank" on his right forearm and a warrant out for his arrest in relation to a probation violation while on GPS monitoring.
District Attorney Kevin Hayden commended the quick action of both first responders and the Boston Police Department in ensuring the arrest and holding of the individual responsible for causing such harm. He described the incident as both "bizarre and concerning" and expressed astonishment at the victim's resilience in surviving such a brutal attack without immediate medical care.
