Today, Henry Lee of KTVU reported that Deshaun Eric Mays, a 19-year-old from Oakland, California, has been charged with using a knife to carjack and rob a pregnant woman of her 2022 Mercedes GLC 300. The crime occurred near 8th Avenue and E. 22nd Street in the San Antonio area of Oakland, per a tweet from Henry Lee of KTVU.

According to Alameda County Inmate Locator, Mays was arrested with the assistance of Alameda County Sheriff's Office on September 25, and charged by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Mays is facing a number of charges, including second-degree robbery, carjacking, carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle, child abuse without great bodily injury or death, and possession of a stolen vehicle, among others.
Dominiqic Melles, another individual associated with the case, has also been charged with auto theft. It is not clear from available information how Melles is linked to Mays and the carjacking incident.
Mays was booked into Santa Rita Jail on September 25, with his bail set at no amount. At this time, no information has been provided regarding his next court hearing or possible legal representation.
