Yesterday, a Redwood City resident was arrested on charges of arson, commercial burglary, and vandalism. The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Arnaldo Lucatero, is currently being held at Maguire Correctional Facility on a $25,000 bail, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
Earlier that evening, at around 8:07 PM, deputies received a report of a vehicle set ablaze in the 2900 block of Flood Avenue, in the North Fair Oaks area of unincorporated Redwood City. The suspect was reportedly present at the property when the vehicle was ignited, leading to extensive damage. Lucatero attempted to flee the scene but was later apprehended nearby.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had illegally entered the property and vandalized it with spray paint. Alongside the arson on the vehicle, Lucatero is now facing charges of commercial burglary and vandalism, as detailed in the Sheriff's Office statement.
