As September progresses, families and communities come together to promote child safety in various ways. One notable initiative is Child Passenger Safety Week, which aims to educate caregivers and guardians about the importance of properly securing children in vehicles. In the spirit of this commendable purpose, the Alameda Police Department (APD) is hosting a free car seat installation event on September 16th, offering families the opportunity to empower themselves and protect their youngest members.
Between 10 am and 12 pm, the City Hall parking lot located on Oak Street will transform into a hub of secure futures. Highly trained car seat technicians will be on hand to conduct free child safety seat inspections and assist with car seat installations for those needing guidance. No reservations are necessary, allowing families to come on a drop-in basis and receive the assistance they need.
For those who may be unable to attend this weekend's event, support is still available. Weekday appointments can be arranged with the Senior Car Seat Technician, Bob Rollins, who can be reached at (510) 337-8590.
