In Hayward, two adult males were apprehended by the city's Special Duty Unit last month, for their alleged involvement in the sale of firearms and narcotics. The arrests were made possible by the combined efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies, which ultimately led to the seizure of dangerous weapons and the dismantling of criminal operations.
According to the Hayward Police Department's Facebook page, a loaded .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine and an AR pistol loaded with armor-piercing ammunition were among the items recovered during the operation. These weapons, without doubt, pose a grave threat to the safety of the city, and their removal from the streets is to be commended.
The success of this long-term investigation was made possible with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall Service, Oakland PD, Alameda PD, and Union City PD. These sister organizations contributed their skills and resources in support of Hayward's Special Response Unit.
