The city of San Diego continues its ambitious endeavor to address infrastructure and environmental challenges with its PureWaterSD Project. One of its latest efforts has caused some disruption in the community, especially along Clairemont Drive, where new pipeline and bicycle lane installations are taking place. According to a recent post on Councilmember Jennifer Campbell's Twitter account, traffic control measures have been set up between Iroquois Avenue and Blackfoot Avenue to facilitate these developments.

Due to the scale and complexity of the project, construction crews are working around the clock, with excavations and pipeline installations occurring during the day – from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – and welding and other supplementary tasks carried out at night, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. In an effort to minimize the disturbance to nearby residents, workers are reportedly doing their best to keep the noise levels to a minimum during nighttime operations.
Community members can expect the current schedule of work on Clairemont Drive to last for approximately three weeks, after which construction crews will continue their efforts further north. During this time, parking restrictions will prevail in the work zone, and no parking signs will be erected to inform residents and visitors about the necessity to seek alternative parking options. Furthermore, disruptions to traffic flow are anticipated due to construction activities, so road users are urged to remain alert behind the wheel, pay close attention to signage, and follow the directions given by traffic controllers and/or flaggers on site.
As with any major construction project, potential inconveniences such as noise and dust are anticipated throughout the process.
