
Today, just after 12:30 a.m., a tragic vehicle collision occurred in Vista. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the accident took place at the intersection of South Melrose Drive and County Complex, where a solo vehicle struck a traffic control light pole.
Law enforcement authorities, including deputies from the Vista Sheriff's Station and the Vista Fire Department, arrived at the scene promptly. They found the driver in apparent medical distress, according to the official release. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
As the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported, their Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team is now handling the investigation into the collision.
