Officers from the Bureau of Community Engagement and District A-1 (Downtown) Community Service team took part in the Walk the Beat initiative yesterday, September 12, partnering with seniors in the North End community to forge connections and uplift spirits in less-than-perfect conditions as reported on the BPD's official blog.
Every Tuesday at 10 a.m., BPD officers convene at the Nazzaro Center in North End to embark on the community walk, an opportunity for seniors to engage with law enforcement professionals outside of emergency contexts. The initiative fosters dialogue and understanding, encourages an atmosphere of trust, and bridges the gap between generations in a neighborhood undergoing rapid change.
