In the Grand Crossing neighborhood on Chicago's South Side, a 30-year-old woman named Sierra Jamison was found brutally strangled to death in a garage on Monday evening.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Jamison was found at around 6:30 PM on Monday in the 7800 block of South Indiana Avenue. Her body, which bore a laceration to her cheek, was discovered by relatives who quickly sought help from nearby police officers. Investigators also found a broken earring and a fingernail on the floor close to her body, suggesting a struggle may have occurred prior to her death.
An autopsy conducted on Tuesday confirmed that her death resulted from strangulation, and the Cook County medical examiner's office ruled her death a homicide, as per ABC7 News.
As the investigation continues, no suspects have been taken into custody, and the circumstances leading up to the grisly crime remain a mystery.
Area 2 detectives are working to unravel the truth behind Jamison's death, seeking any leads that may shed light on this senseless tragedy.
