The city of San Leandro experienced a harrowing encounter recently as officers responded to calls of a suspect brandishing a firearm on Tudor Road. The suspect was allegedly seen within a residence by the victim, who reported the individual displaying a gun. In a concerted effort between San Leandro Police Department officers and detectives, the suspect was ultimately apprehended and law enforcement found multiple firearms within the residence under investigation, according to the San Leandro Police Department.
One of the firearms discovered was a rifle that had been painted to appear like a Nerf gun, a popular children's toy. The rifle, which had been equipped with a 100-round drum, was loaded and concealed within the residence.
Officers and detectives also found two rifles and one handgun in another bedroom within the residence. All weapons located were loaded, however, the officers managed to handle the situation and secure the firearms.
