Early Monday, a large-scale operation launched by the Pittsburg Police Department, in collaboration with several other law enforcement agencies, resulted in numerous search and arrest warrants being carried out across Contra Costa County. As reported by the Pittsburg Police Department, the case originates from a tragic murder that took place on July 14, on Crestview Drive in Pittsburg.
On that fateful day, an innocent man lost his life and another was seriously injured as several males fired at a moving vehicle. The operation unveiled the names of the individuals believed to be involved, and law enforcement hopes this significant development will eventually lead to justice served.
Search warrants were executed in Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley, and Pleasant Hill, fueling the successful operation that resulted in the arrest of nine individuals on various charges, ranging from murder and firearms violations to narcotics-related offenses. The authorities have expressed their belief that many of those arrested belonged to a notorious East Contra Costa County gang known for its criminal activities. As the investigation progresses, more information is expected to surface on the scope and nature of this gang's operations.
At the center of the manhunt is 19-year-old Pittsburg resident Amen Syrius Allen, suspected of being directly connected to the tragic July 14 murder. As law enforcement professionals understandably warn, Allen should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should immediately notify local law enforcement to assist in apprehending him..
Despite the progress, the murder investigation remains very active. The Pittsburg Police Department intends to reveal additional details soon to further clarify the connections between those arrested, their criminal affiliations, and their potential involvement in other crimes throughout the region. Detective Gutierrez, along with the Pittsburg Police Department's Tip Line, is seeking further information from those who may have any knowledge regarding the crime or whereabouts of Amen Syrius Allen.
