In a recent spree of vandalism, a young individual has been charged with multiple counts of criminal damage to government property in Chicago. The offender, identified as 20-year-old Zander Glass, caused significant destruction to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) on August 17, 2023, amounting to an estimated $42,700 in damages.
The incidents occurred at the CTA Green Line in the 800 block of S. 63rd St., with the offender seemingly kicking windows of the train, causing them to break. Security cameras captured the events, and authorities sought the public's assistance in identifying the suspects. After the investigation, Glass was arrested on September 4, 2023, in the 4000 block of S. Indiana in Chicago. He now faces five felony counts of Criminal Damage to Government Property valued between $500 and $10,000, as well as one felony count for Criminal Damage to Government Property valued at under $500.
It appears that Glass was previously charged with criminal trespassing by the Chicago Police Department in early 2022.

Glass awaits the decision of the Central Bond Court on September 6, 2023.
