On October 1, 21-year-old inmate Dylan Baylacq was found dead in his cell at the Marin County Jail. Preliminary evidence suggests the cause of death was hanging, leading the jail officials to involve the Novato Police Department for investigation.

According to the Novato Police Department, they will work closely with the Sonoma County Coroner's Office to probe into Baylacq's death.

Baylacq, from Forest Knolls, had been in Marin County Jail custody since August 27, following, to avoid prematurely, his arrest on various charges which included domestic violence, terrorist threats, substance abuse, damaging a wireless device, and resisting arrest as per Novato Police Department report. 

A thorough investigation is taking place by the Novato Police Department, in conjunction with agencies. The police stated no further information would be disclosed at this point to avoid disruption of the investigative process.
