Alameda County Superior Court Judge James Cramer has denied a motion to dismiss a charge against former Alameda County Prosecutor Amilcar "Butch" Ford as per the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

Price charged Ford with a misdemeanor for violating Business and Professions Code 6131(b) by defending as a lawyer after serving a role as a prosecutor reported by Alameda County District Attorney's Office .

Presently employed by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, Ford alleges that he is being targeted for whistleblowing on Price's administration. He claims that filed a formal complaint about his concerns with the County before consulting his attorney. The lawyer for Jason Fletcher, Michael Rains, publicly defends Ford's actions, arguing that Price "doesn't understand the law, so she just freelances" as stated in a Hoodline article.

Ford, having pled not guilty, will return to court on November 16, for further discussions on his misdemeanor charge as per the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.
