Yesterday, an armed robbery was reported on the 2900 block of W. Devon Ave where two store employees resisted the robbers' demands according to Chicago Police. At approximately 10:28 pm, three unidentified males burst into the store wielding handguns and demanding cash. The employees, a 65-year-old male and a 49-year-old male, declined to comply, resulting in the robbers assaulting them by striking their heads with the guns, which inflicted lacerations.
An offender intensified the severity of the crime by discharging a firearm within the establishment. Remarkably, no one was struck by the bullet. Following this action, the criminals absconded from the scene, leaving the assaulted employees. The victims were then transported to Swedish hospital, reported to be in good condition.
Currently, no suspects are in the police's custody for this crime, and Area Three detectives continue their investigation.
