The newly renovated Terminal E of Boston Logan International Airport was unveiled on Friday, October 13th, marking the 100-year milestone of the airport. The event was attended by Gov. Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu as reported on NBC Boston.
Architect Luis Vidal designed the terminal's standout bright red color, referred to as Boston Red. Alongside a new color scheme, the terminal experienced a substantial expansion of approximately 390,000 square feet, consolidating it into a unified structure according to the Boston Herald. Primarily servicing international flights, Terminal E connects 53 global destinations across 30 countries.
Gov. Healey recognized the enhancements to Terminal E, noting the potential impact on elevating Massachusetts and Boston internationally. Mayor Wu similarly vocalized support, highlighting Logan Airport's role in fostering international relationships that enrich local residents, businesses, institutions, and organizations.
Besides visual updates, Terminal E boasts updated amenities prioritizing passenger comfort and convenience. Facilities to include a mothers' room and an innovative sensory room with interactive stations focused on balance, light therapy, and cognitive/memory improvement. One section reproduces an airplane cabin to familiarize passengers with the flight experience as revealed by Boston Herald.
