
The Boston Police Department's Community Service Office of District A-1 partnered with the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office yesterday, October 26, to address the Eliot School's middle school students on the issues of cyberbullying and safe online practices. Their joint presentation aimed to educate students about the potential dangers of social media and proper behavior in virtual environments, including online gaming in accord with Boston Police Department.
The alarming rise in cyberbullying has led to increased efforts in mitigating its negative impacts. In 2022, the Pew Research Center reported that 59% of American teens had experienced some form of online harassment, indicating that cyberbullying has become a part of many young people's experiences, acoording to Pew Research.
