On Saturday, October 21st, Boston Police Department officers stationed at District E-18, located in Hyde Park, joined the local community at the Needham Road Block Party Touch a Truck event. Here, local children were given an inside peek, getting to sit in police cruisers and learn how to operate the sirens. The event serves to strengthen law enforcement-community relationships through education, communication, and shared experiences.
Additionally, children had the opportunity to partake in a whistle demonstration, further enhancing the experiential learning approach provided by the event. These interactions are valuable opportunities for the officers and kids to create connections that go deeper than the mere spectacle.
