Recently, officers from the Boston Police Department's (BPD) Community Service Office in District A-1/A-15 (Downtown/Charlestown) partnered with the Latino Law Enforcement Group (LLEGO). They served as VIP panelists at the Harvard Kent Elementary School's inaugural Latin American & Hispanic Heritage event held on October 14th, 2023, as reported by a recent BPD publication.

Leaders and representatives from a variety of professions participated in the event. They provided the students the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights from accomplished community members with Hispanic heritage, spanning professions such as law enforcement, business, and art.

Attendees enjoyed an assortment of authentic Latin American dishes. The goal of this was event was not only to celebrate Hispanic heritage and its impact on American culture, but to also recognize the significant contributions of Hispanic Americans towards shaping the future of our nation.

According to the BPD publication, the event successfully "brought together leaders from the community to talk to students about their Hispanic heritage as it related to their profession and success."
