Earlier this month, the unity of the East Boston community was in full display as officers from the Boston Police Department (BPD), assigned to District A-7, participated in the 3rd annual Anna's Monster Dash 5k. The BPD reports that officers, for the second year running, formed a team in memory of the late Anna Noviello - a community member who left an indelible mark with her kind spirit.
To honor Anna, who passed away from cancer at the young age of 40, the Anna Coviello Noviello Memorial Scholarship was established, supporting Catholic education of students. Anna, known to intensely appreciate life, was marked by a contagious laughter, and a heart-melting smile.
Being a part of this annual event serves to commemorate Anna's legacy, keeping her memory alive in her community and beyond. Moving forward, the unity embodied in these gatherings showcases the buoyancy and support that characterize East Boston, and by extension, the wider Boston city.
