Yesterday, the Boston Police District E-13 Community Service Team collaborated with several city offices for a cleanup and celebration event on Jamaica Plain's Bragdon St. Residents were afforded the opportunity to interact with community partners and stakeholders, as stated by Boston Police News.
Armed with, cleaning tools and supplies, community stakeholders worked with police officers to beautify their neighborhood. The event featured music and activities for children.
Creating an atmosphere for open dialogue also served as a vital bridge-building exercise between residents, officers, and partnering organizations. Volunteer residents had the chance to discuss important community issues such as safety, public spaces, and their maintenance, directly with their local law enforcement affiliates.
