Yesterday morning, a significant blaze engulfed a church at 10259 S. Avenue L in Chicago. First responders escalated the situation's severity to a 3-11 alarm. According to the Chicago Fire Department Media, all individuals were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

The fire began to ominously spread to the church's roof, raising potential concerns about the stability of the towering steeple. Promptly, first responders established a collapse zone and evacuated neighboring homes in a swift response to an impending collapse. In a show of city-wide solidarity, the Chicago Transit Authority offered a warming bus to shelter those necessitated to leave their homes due to the emergency.
The church boasting a significant truss roof spread over 3.5 stories with dimension of 60x150 presented manifold challenges to firefighters. Per the updates from CFD Media, all rescue units worked defensively focusing mainly on the steeple's "A" side, to minimize the fire's devastating impacts.
