A sudden uptick in robbery incidents on Saturday, October 21, in Chicago's 8th (Chicago Lawn) and 9th (Deering) districts brought uneaze to the community. Young offenders wielded handguns to demand property from victims, as reported by the Chicago Police Department.
Six individual incidents were reported within that day all throughout various locations. The first noted attack occurred on the 3800 block of West 47th Street at around 7:30 A.M., with follow-up robberies in the vicinity until the final reported one at 7:55 A.M. on the 3200 block of West 47th Street.
The suspects in these recent crimes have been identified to be four African American males aged between 16 and 18, weighing about 150-175 pounds, and about 5'08"-5'10" in height. Their attire—red hooded sweatshirts, sunglasses, and ski masks—served to cleverly hide their actual identities.
In light of these ongoing incidents, the police are pressing citizens to stay vigilant and report potential threats.
