Chicago encountered multiple armed robberies this morning. According to the Chicago PD, the first offense occurred at approximately 12:56 a.m. on the 200 block of S. Halsted. Two persons approached a 28-year-old woman and seized her belongings, but she was unharmed in the encounter. The CPD's Area Three detectives are investigating the incident.
Next, as per CPD's report, at roughly 1:11 a.m. in the block of S. Western, a 24-year-old man was targeted. Two individuals stole his bag and other possessions at gunpoint, leaving him uninjured. The investigation into this case is still ongoing.
The third and final incident took place on the 5000 block of S. Lake Park Ave, at around 3:45 a.m., as reported by a CPD report. Several men confronted a tow truck driver, stealing his property at gunpoint. As with the prior incidents, the victim suffered no physical injuries. The case is under investigation by Area One detectives.
In light of these disturbing events, it is critical to remember that staying alert and vigilant helps protect the community. The CPD continues its investigations.
