
Last night, the "Light Up the Night" event, arranged by the South Region Coalition of the San Diego Domestic Violence Council, took place at Rohr Park in Chula Vista. This event, free for all attendees, advocated for support and solidarity for survivors of domestic violence and fosters a culture of self-care, per the Chula Vista Police Department.

Nora Vargas, Chair of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors; John McCann, Mayor of the City of Chula Vista; and Chief Kennedy of the Chula Vista Police Department will appear as guest speakers, according to SBCS. Their participation underscores the importance of a joint effort between community and political figures to address the issue of domestic violence effectively.
The "Illuminate A World Free of Domestic Violence" - driven event offers different activities catering to attendees' overall well-being. Yoga sessions will be performed, tasty food will be available, and a candlelight vigil will be held for those affected by domestic violence, strengthening a communal commitment to end it.
