The Citywide Traffic System Upgrade Project in Concord has begun in an effort to improve traffic flow management and road safety. This project will affect four different locations over the next week, as detailed through the City of Concord's official Facebook page. All commuters should be aware of these changes and remain vigilant during their travels.
Work begins on Monday, October 9 at Ygnacio Valley Road at Alberta Drive and Pine Hollow Road. Then, the next day on October 10, crews will move to Detroit Avenue at Oakmead Drive. From there, Concord Boulevard at Grant Street will be the focus on October 11, and finally Port Chicago Highway and East Olivera Road on October 12.
During these scheduled projects, traffic signals at the aforementioned locations will intermittently be dark or flashing from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. To assure public safety, the citizens of Concord are urged to heed the construction signage and follow all posted instructions within this schedule.
While this undertaking may result in temporary inconveniences, its purpose is to long-termly upgrade the city's traffic management infrastructure. Therefore, those traveling on the affected roads should exercise patience and attentiveness toward any changes in the routing system.
