The Engelbach-Hart Music Festival, hosted by Illinois College, will take place October 27-29 and will feature a variety of talented musicians. As reported by Fox Illinois, the festival is an integral part of the college's Fine Arts Series. Admission to the event is free.
Held at the Rammelkamp Chapel, the festival will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 27, with a Faculty Collage Concert, according to Illinois College. On Saturday, October 28th, the much-anticipated Bass-Baritone Frank Ward will take the stage, reprising his acclaimed performance from 2016.
The festival's pinnacle could arguably be the performance on Sunday, October 29. The internationally known a cappella vocal ensemble, Cantus, will start their show at 3 p.m. Their harmonious sound has previously been recognized by The Washington Post as "exalting finesse" and "expressive power," as cited by the Illinois College website. Not only do they cover music from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions, but Cantus is also celebrated for their unique programming and mesmerizing performances.
The Engelbach-Hart Music Festival serves to benefit more than just music appreciators. It also aids to promote high-quality programming within the Jacksonville community. Season and individual concert tickets are on sale for adults, while students and children can attend free of charge.
