
On the evening of October 7, Oakland was the site of four different outbreaks of violence, ending in five people injured, according to local police reports. The shootings occurred in various locations throughout the city.
As detailed by the San Francisco Chronicle, the first in this string of violence began at around 7:30 PM. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the vicinity of Mandela Parkway, where a victim was found and rushed immediately to a nearby hospital for treatment. Merely a quarter of an hour later, or so, officers hurried to Webster Street following another shooting report, resulting from an escalated verbal disagreement. The involved party was hospitalized in a stable condition.
At just before 8 PM, the officials arrived at another incident to quickly find, that a shooting had occurred in the 1000 block of 60th Street, as reported by CBS News San Francisco. Two individuals were wounded at this site, and both are currently in stable condition. Later, a fourth shooting happened on 23rd Street. Officers, while finding evidence of a shooting, couldn't trace any victim initially. Later, however, they connected the incident to a 16-year-old girl who had been admitted to the hospital for gunshot injuries.
