A freeway shooting took place on Monday, October 16, on westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) near San Pablo Dam Road. The California Highway Patrol's (CHP) Golden Gate Division Special Investigations Unit has launched an investigation.
Damaged by shattered glass in the freeway, one person sought treatment at a local hospital and relayed information which led to a temporary westbound lane closure for crime scene investigation. This information came directly from a CHP post.
The CHP is actively inquiring about the motive and suspect(s) involved in the San Pablo shooting. Looking to collect additional information, they have appealed to potential witnesses via the CHP Investigations Tipline.
