Yesterday, amid the ongoing Israeli-Hamas conflict, the Illinois State Police (ISP) issued a statement urging a heightened state of alert against violence and hate crimes.

ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly reiterated the need for increased vigilance, urging law enforcement and community members alike to remain vigilant. He further encouraged anyone witnessing suspicious activities to alert law enforcement agencies or call 911, based on the threat's severity.
For bridging communication gaps, the ISP has initiated dialogues with Muslim and Jewish religious leaders affected by this tense situation. Constant intelligence-sharing and communication continue with local and federal partners, keeping Illinois State Police's resources at a ready state to respond.
Although no mass threats in Illinois are confirmed as of now, the public is warned to remain alert.
