The Los Gatos Creek Trail in Campbell, California, will undergo a temporary closure from October 10 to October 12. The city's Public Works team is conducting asphalt repairs on this integral recreational and commuting route. As stated by the City of Campbell, the closure operates daily from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM and affects the trail between Camden Ave entrance and the bridge leading to Campbell Park.
With the maintenance focusing on the trail's west side near Highway 17, the city officials hope to further improve the trail's condition. Despite any passing inconvenience, up-keeping such public spaces like the Los Gatos Creek Trail is essential for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of its users.
Part of a larger 4.7-mile trail system stretching from Lexington Reservoir to, Meridian Avenue in San Jose, the Los Gatos Creek Trail is a mixed-use path. It provides a picturesque route for walking, jogging, and bicycling and connects parks, employment centers, and residential neighborhoods. Over the years, trail maintenance has become a local community priority due to its increasing usage.
Regular trail users should remain aware of this upcoming closure and need to plan their activities to adjust to the closure. The three-day window should provide the Public Works crew with ample time to finish the necessary repairs and improvements.
