Last week in Malden, Massachusetts, 63-year-old Mary McTaggart was killed in a car accident.
Initial findings from Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Malden Police Chief Glenn Cronin suggest that the BMW SUV was driving south on Main Street when it ran into a stopped SUV at a traffic signal. The impact caused the BMW to leave the roadway, striking two telephone poles before fatally hitting pedestrian Mary McTaggart, who was on the sidewalk.
The Hoodline report says an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations vehicle was involved in the crash. Two of its agents sustained injuries.
Despite fast response by emergency services and subsequent transport to the hospital, McTaggart succumbed to her injuries. The investigation concerning this accident is still ongoing, with the role of the ICE vehicle in the incident yet to be clearly established.
The investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Malden Police, and the Massachusetts State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Section, are ongoing.
