Reports from Boston 25 News informed that Lynelle Leonard had tragically died in a car accident three years ago.
His bid to regain the memento has inspired the local community, who have joined him in the search. Several strangers are assisting in the mission despite adverse weather conditions, even using metal detectors.
The locket carries a special meaning for Connor as it, too, stands as his link to his grandmother, Melissa Moriarty. She has been safeguarding some of Lynelle's ashes in her home. According to a report by CBS Boston News, Moriarty expressed, "I haven't buried her, because I want to make sure she's safe. Her being in my house, I feel she's safe... We're missing a part of my daughter because she is in that heart."
