
In the early morning hours on October 9, a Ramona house fire led to the detention of a resident, Susanne Buixasa, suspected of arson. As stated by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the incident took place around 6:00 a.m. on Haley Street's 200 block.
The report of the blaze brought Ramona Sheriff's Substation deputies alongside CAL FIRE San Diego firefighters to the scene. On their arrival, the fully ablaze house was found to have caused no injuries to its evacuated occupants.
The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit was hastily summoned to find out the fire's cause and origin. Their investigation caused them to believe the fire was started intentionally. The suspect, Susanne Buixasa, 57, was arrested under arson charges and was confined in Santee's Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility, as reported by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
