
On Friday, October 13, a robbery took place at a CTA Blue Line Station on the 500 block of S. Pulaski, occurring at approximately 10:08 a.m. As per a Chicago Police Department community alert, the robber attempted to pickpocket the victim. However, the victim resisted, resulting in a tussle that ended with the offender successfully fleeing the scene with the victim's wallet.
As described in the police alert, the suspect is an African American male in his 30s or 40s, is approximately 5'10"-6'1" tall, and weighs between 150 to 170 pounds. He was noted to have a black mustache, sparse facial hair, and was seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a white Nike logo, dark jeans, carrying a blue backpack, and wearing grey and black shoes.
Law enforcement officials have issued recommendations urging community members to be vigilant, report suspicious activities to police, and to avoid confronting suspects.
