The Chicago Police Department (CPD) has issued a community alert due to an increase in vehicle theft in the 9th District (Deering).
Offenders have been reported to target legally parked vehicles and steal tools.
The police have provided preventive tips to the public. They suggest not leaving your keys in the vehicle or leaving the vehicle running unattended, and to keep your vehicle doors and windows secured. They also urge the public to immediately report suspicious activity.
